Rappahannock County also is home to Wasmund's single malt whiskey at the Copper Fox Distillery in Sperryville, where scheduled tours and presentations offer insight into the distilling process. July 31 - August 1, 2010 Festa Rappahannock Five wineries of Rappahannock County celebrate the launch of the Artisanal Wineries of Rappahannock wine trail at Festa Rappahannock. The afternoon features Viognier, Cabernet Franc wines and "slow" local foods including beef provided by Briarmead Farms, and chicken raised locally by Beatrix Farms, both of the Northern Valley Pastoral Guild, along with local produce, all creatively prepared by the chefs of The Marriott Ranch. Live musical entertainment will round out the day. Proceeds will benefit Hospice of the Rapidan. Wineries include Chester Gap Cellars, Gadino Cellars, Narmada Winery, Sharp Rock Vineyards, and Rappahannock Cellars. Virginia’s newest and most unique wine trail is a collection of artisanal, family-run wineries, just a short, scenic drive from one another in Rappahannock County, who have joined together to offer a premium wine tasting experience that is rooted in small lot, handcrafted wines.
