Frederick Kahler is an American Visionary Artist and Rappahannock resident. Fred was born in Washington, DC, and served in the US Army during Vietnam as a Chaplain’s assistant. Kahler designed and built the bell tower at Fort Benning, Georgia, and painted the murals for the Airborne Chapel. In the early 1970s, Fred began to create minutely detailed drawings made with watercolor and ink applied with a steel tip pen. He draws for as many as twelve hours a day, constantly…
